FITTING TIPS:

Our Snap-Caps are designed and moulded to very fine tolerances.  

The Cap & Washer interlock together with a perfect air and watertight seal, protecting the head of the fixing against rusting for many years.  This also results in a very secure Cap that resists tampering.

Both cap and washer rely on the plastic distorting as the cap locks over the washer.  As the plastic become colder, it stiffens and does not flex as much.  For the type of plastic used for Snap-Caps, these changes to the behaviour of the plastic are most noticeable when the plastic is below 15°C.

Fitting the Cap to the Washer may require more force.  It may also result in a white 'stress' ring forming around the perimeter of the cap. The white ring may disappear over time, especially if the caps are warmed up.

Before fitting, simply warm the caps in an 'inside' pocket (i.e. close to your body), or in somewhere else warm to a maximum of 100°C. Once fitted, Snap-Caps can endure temperatures from -35°C to 120°C without problems. Because Snap-Caps are UV-stabilised, they can be used both indoors and outdoors.
